Biz Location Update..

Greetings everyone!

Hope all of you enjoyed the holidays. At Gear 6 Performance, we've spent the better part of our holidays searching for a new location and moving our biz shop into temporary storage. After 5 yrs in the same location on Scenery Ln in Meridian, we decided not to renew our lease.. so our active search began. We officially have a new location as of January 12th. WhoooHooo!

This weekend we are moving into our new space and hope you'll get a chance to stop by and visit once we're settled in.. should be by the end of next week, Jan 19th-20th, 2012. Here's our new address, please update your contact info. BTW, our main ofc phone number will remain the same unless we are required to change it, we'll update everyone about that if necessary. The 800 toll number stays the same.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

Hello to all from sunny Arizona. You don't want to Snow Bird with the Sheehan's. Last year in Florida they set a new record for the consecutive days below freezing in January and this year in Tucson they set a record for the most rain in December. The only consolation was it was still warmer that in Nampa.

We have already done two outings with the local Cobra Club. There abot 40 Cobras in the Tucson area and 75 in Phoenix. There are plans for both groups to get together on New Years day and the weather man says it will be in the mid to high 70's

See everyone in the spring and if Wayne can keep a car long enough maybe we can do some activities with our cars next year.

weird carb issue

This past winter I swapped out th dual-carb setup on my 390 for a new Edelbrock Performer RPM intake and Holley 4150 (0-4779c). Overall I'm really pleased - much more power where I can actually use it! However, I was driving this past weekend and had a weird issue. After some, shall we say, heavy acceleration the car started running poorly (wouldn't idle, but smoothed out at higher RPMs. I was less than 1/4 mile from home so pulled into the shop and shut the car off. After opening the hood, I heard a the sound of liquid running - there was fuel dumping into the secondary openings from the pump discharge nozzle.

I let the engine sit for a bit, then started it up - same issue.
I checked to make sure the float/fuel level is correct, and let the engine cool down completely.
i've started several times since then, and let the engine come up to temp (in the shop, not driving).

My question is, could something like this be caused by heat, or more likely stuck needle? Or something else?

2011 Fun Run/BBQ

Time to be thinking about the "Fun Run & BBQ" for this year. Maybe we'll run the route backwards or a new route entirely this year. Is Saturday or Sunday the best day? What are your thoughts? We would like to get some new attendees this year. Maybe bigger prizes? Steve maybe a years supply of screws or Wayne nitrogen to air the tires of Cobras. Or maybe Darren could donate some prop wash. Let me know what you think and lets make this a fun way to start our Cobra activities for this year. Let us know if there is any interest in doing this or if we need a new event to get people excited.

Hello to all from "The Red Baron"

We have made a pilgrimage from Nampa to New Britain, CT to visit ERA and the birthplace of our car ERA EXP002. Along the way we stopped and visited each of the 6 prior owners of our car. It has been a trip to remember for the rest of our lives. For those who haven't heard, we took the Cobra with us in a new stacker trailer and plan to spend the winter in Florida. We will think kind thoughts while cruising around in the Cobra in February.

I just rode the link over from Gear 6 - glad to have found your blog!

I was just able to catch the tail-end of this year's Motorfest and had a great time photographing there in just the few minutes left to me. You can take a look at some of my work at http://bit.ly/dozryC (try the slide show option in the upper right).

I didn't get any Cobras this time and that's why I'm writing. I've got a unique way of producing very dramatic car portraits and want to start offering it to those who want a great portrait of their rides.

What I propose to do is build a small portfolio of samples and to do this I'll trade a portrait for the opportunity to just take the photo of a member's car. If you think any of your members would care to take the time to do this, please let them know. I'd like to have a couple of Cobras in my collection so I can only do the first two at no charge.

Below is some of the info supplied by CompCams:
